LDW® seeks to accomplish this through awareness, advocacy, empowerment, education, service and collaborative efforts.

Our association works as an advocate for appropriate services by monitoring State and Federal Departments of Education policies, providing our members with information on legislation, initiatives, and relevant laws pertaining to special education.

As president of LDW®, I would like to acknowledge my thanks to the many people who help make all this fine work possible.

Message from the Executive Director of LDW

Learning Disabilities Worldwide (LDW®) has been and will continue to be instrumental in changing the world to bring hope and support to individuals with learning disabilities (LD) and their families.

LDW® has created a forum where all nations can join forces on behalf of indiduals with learning disabilities. Partnering with other countries allows us to increase the early identification and intervention, which are essential for the success of indiduals with learning disabiltiies in the United States and around the world.

It is imperative to create public awareness of the early warning signs; we must provide special education services immediately upon identification of learning difficulties. Individuals with learning disabilities face many challenges throughout their lives that unnecessarily interfere with their achievement. With proper intervention, they progress towards their goals in life.

We are committed to serving a world where learning disabilities are recognized, acknowledged, and effectively addressed. We strive to:

  • provide parents the information that will support them to parent their children with learning disabilities.
  • assist educators by providing best practices and tools they need to teach effectively.
  • support professionals to guide children and adults with learning disabilities by informing them of the multifaceted approaches required for intervention.
  • support individuals with learning disabilities by offering information and tools to enable their success.

Our ultimate goal is to see individuals with learning disabilities become empowered to achieve their aspirations in their academic careers, chosen professions, and personal lives. Please join me as LDW® continues to advocate, educate, and collaborate. Together we are a strong global voice bringing hope to individuals with learning disabilities around the world.

Sincerely,
Teresa Allissa Citro
Executive Director, LDW®
